Kotie's Chocolate Cake
Kotie se sjokoladekoek

Talk about kitchen-divas in the Bushveld-region and the name of Kotie Wagner comes up. Kotie, secretary at the regional Agricultural Union in Warmbaths, is renowned for her too-easy-to-flop chocolate cake.
As jy oor lekker kos praat, duik die naam van Kotie Wagner van Warmbad gou-gou op. Sy is sekretaresse van die Waterberg/Warmbad Distrikslandbou-unie en het al naam gemaak met haar flatervrye sjokolade koek.

Ingredients:
6 eggs, white and yellow separated
500ml cake flour
500ml sugar
2ml salt
250ml oil
125ml cocoa
250ml water (boiled)
4 teaspoons baking powder

Method:

  • Beat together cocoa, sugar and water until sugar is melted.
  • Add flour, yolks and oil.
  • Whip egg whites and add.
  • Add baking powder.
  • Bake in greased pan at 160ºC for approximately 25-30 minutes.
  • While the cake is still warm, decorate with cooked condensed milk.
  • Bestanddele:
    6 eiers (skei die geel en wit)
    500ml koekmeel
    500ml suiker
    2ml sout
    250ml olie
    125ml kakao
    250ml kookwater
    4 teelepels bakpoeier

    Metode:

  • Klits kakao, suiker en water totdat die suiker opgelos het.
  • Voeg meel, eiergele en olie by.
  • Klits eierwitte en voeg by.
  • Voeg bakpoeier by.
  • Bak in gesmeerde pan by 160ºC vir ongeveer 25-30 minute.
  • Versier koek met gekookte kondensmelk terwyl die koek nog warm is.
