Finger-licking Chuck - Vingerleklekker dikrib

Residents of the beautiful Far North of the country, enjoy their meat more
than anywhere else in the country. René Stegman, wife of a farmer in the
Vaalwater-region, knows how to make a finger-licking chuck.

Bosvelders geniet hulle vleis meer as op enige ander plek in die land.
RenéStegman, 'n boervrou van Vaalwater, weet hoe om vingerleklekker dikrib te maak.

Ingredients:
1½kg chuck
1 onion (chopped)
125ml vinegar
125ml syrup
10ml coffee powder
Bisto
salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  • Fry chuck until brown and cook until tender.
  • Mix vinegar, syrup, coffee powder, salt and pepper. Mix with meat.
  • Fry onion and add the meat to it.
  • Thicken sauce with Bisto.
  • Serve with rice and salad.
  • Bestanddele:
    1½kg dikrib
    1 uit (gekap)
    125ml asyn
    125ml stroop
    10ml koffiepoeier
    Bisto
    sout en peper na smaak

    Metode:

  • Braai dikrib tot bruin en kook dan tot sag.
  • Meng asyn, stroop, koffiepoeier, sout en peper. Meng met vleis.
  • Braai uie en voeg vleis by.
  • Verdik sous met Bisto.
  • Bedien met rys en slaai.
