Cheese and Mealie Delight

Ingredients
300ml milk
30ml butter
3 eggs (separated)
410g whole kernel mealies
100g Cheddar cheese (grated)
5ml French mustard
250ml fresh bread crumbs
salt and freshly grounded black pepper to taste

Method

  • Warm milk and butter in a cast iron pot.
  • Whip egg yolks and add with other ingredients except the egg whites to the milk.
  • Whip egg whites and fold in.
  • Cover and cook for 30 minutes over low heat until set.
  • Enough for 6 portions.
  • Bestanddele
    300ml melk
    30ml botter
    3 eiers, geskei
    1 blik (410g) heelpitmielies
    100g Cheddar-kaas (gerasper)
    5ml Franse mosterd
    250ml vars broodkrummels
    sout en varsgemaalde swartpeper na smaak

    Metode

  • Verhit melk en botter in 'n ysterpotjie.
  • Klits eiergele en roer by melk saam met res van bestanddele, behalwe eierwitte.
  • Klits eierwitte en vou liggies in.
  • Bedek en laat 30 minute prut oor koel kole tot gestol.
  • Genoeg vir 6 mense.
