Pears in red wine
Ramatsimela Rosa Sekele is a matron at the Warmbaths hospital and this fancy dessert of baked pears in a red wine sauce with cream is always a lifesaver when she is entertaining important guests or unexpected family members at home.
Ingredients:
900 g canned pear halves
100 ml red wine
20 ml sugar
250 ml fresh whipped cream
Method:
Preheat oven to 180°C. Arrange the pears in an oven-proof dish.
Mix the red wine and syrup from the pears, add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
Pour the mixture over the pears and bake at 180°C for 10 minutes.
Serve with fresh whipped cream
