Bread Pudding — Broodpoeding

Bread Pudding is easy to prepare and it is simply delicious.
Broodpoeding is maklik om te maak en dis met een woord heerlik!

Ingredients:
6 slices stale bread
50g butter
250g raisins, sultanas or sliced bananas
grated peel of 1 lemon
2 eggs
400ml milk
brown sugar to taste (at least 1 tablespoon)

Method:

  • Butter the bread on both sides.
  • Arrange the bread, raisins (or sultanas/banana) and grated peel in layers in a greased casserole.
  • Beat the eggs, milk and sugar. Pour slowly over the bread en allow to stand for 1 hour.
  • Bake for 1 hour in a pre-heated oven at 150ºC.
  • Serve with custard.
  • Bestanddele:
    6 snye ou brood
    50g botter
    250g rosyne, sultanas of gesnyde piesang
    gerasperde skil van 1 suurlemoen
    2 eiers
    400ml melk
    bruin suiker na smaak (minstens 1 eetlepel)

    Metode:

  • Smeer brood weerskante botter.
  • Rangskik die brood, rosyne (of sultanas/piesang) en gerasperde skil in lae in 'n gesmeerde oondbak.
  • Klits die eiers, melk en suiker saam. Gooi stadig oor die brood en laat vir 'n uur staan.
  • Bak vir 1 uur in 'n voorverhitte oond by 150ºC.
  • Bedien met vla.
