Flavoured Rice — Gegeurde rys

This rice is ideal to serve with fish dishes.
Hierdie rys is lekker saam met visgeregte.

Ingredients:
1kg rice
1¼ litres water
50g saffron
2 sweet red peppers
2 sweet green peppers
1 tablespoon garden peas
100g sliced mushrooms
1 large onion
10g chopped parsley
6 tomatoes
oil for frying

Method:

  • Cook rice and fold in the saffron.
  • Slice the red pimentos and green peppers finely. Chop the onion roughly, and cut the tomatoes into six.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion for one minute. Do not colour.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the onion and fry gently for one minute.
  • Fold all these ingredients into the rice.
  • Bestanddele:
    1kg rys
    1¼ liter water
    50g saffraan
    2 rooi soetrissies
    2 groen soetrissies
    1 eetlepel vars ertjies
    100g gesnyde sampioene
    1 groot ui
    10g gekapte pietersielie
    6 tamaties
    braaiolie

    Metode:

  • Kook rys en vou saffraan in die rys in.
  • Sny die soetrissies in klein stukkies. Sny die ui grof en verdeel elke tamatie in ses stukke.
  • Verwarm olie in pan en braai die uie vir een minuut. Dit moenie verkleur nie.
  • Voeg res van die bestanddele by en braai liggies vir een minuut.
  • Vou al die bestanddele in die rys in.
