Coconut Buttermilk Rusks
Klapper-karringmelkbeskuit

Try this delicious buttermilk rusks with a difference.
Probeer hierdie heerlike karringmelkbeskuit met 'n verskil.

Ingredients:
2kg self-raising flour
750ml coconut
750ml sugar
3 eggs
500g butter or margarine
1 litre buttermilk
2 teaspoons salt

Method:

  • Mix flour, coconut, sugar and salt and rub butter with fingertops into the flour.
  • Beat eggs and mix with buttermilk. Add to the flour and mix well.
  • Scoop into pans and bake for about 1 hour in pre-heated oven at 180ºC.
  • Let it cool, break in pieces and dry for 3-4 hours at 100ºC.
  • Bestanddele:
    2kg bruismeel
    750ml klapper
    750ml suiker
    3 eiers
    500g botter of margarien
    1 liter karringmelk
    2 teelepels sout

    Metode:

  • Meng meel, klapper, suiker en sout saam en vryf botter met vingerpunte in.
  • Klits eiers en meng met karringmelk. Voeg by meelmengsel en meng goed.
  • Skep in panne en bak sowat 1 uur in voorverhitte oond by 180ºC.
  • Laat afkoel, breek in stukke en droog uit teen 100ºC (3-4 uur).
