Lourencia's Orange Salad Lourencia se Lemoenslaai
Lourencia Klopper of Naboomspruit is more at ease on horse-back than in front of the oven. Apart from being known for her Sioux Horseback Adventures, her Orange Salad is well-known in the region.
Lourencia Klopper van Naboomspruit is tuiser op 'n perd se rug as in die kombuis. Sy is nie net bekend vir haar Sioux Horseback Adventures nie, maar ook vir haar heerlike lemoenslaai.
Ingredients:
6-8 oranges
100g white sugar
175ml water
15ml butter or margarine
30ml custard powder
Method:
Peel the oranges and remove all the white skin.
Cut the oranges in thick slices. Remove pips and cut every slice in smaller pieces.
Arrange pieces in glass bowl.
Sprinkle with sugar, stir (not too vigorously) and leave for 10 minutes.
Boil water and butter. Mix custard power with a little bit of water and add to boiling mixture. Keep stirring until ready.
Add hot mixture to oranges and stir slightly.
Let salad cool down a bit before serving.

Bestanddele:
6-8 lemoene
100g wit suiker
175ml water
15ml botter of margarien
30ml vlapoeier
Metode:
Skil lemoene af en verwyder die wit velletjies.
Sny lemoene in dik skywe. Haal pitte uit en sny elke skyf in kleiner stukkies.
Rangskik lemoenstukke in 'n glasbak.
Sprinkel suiker oor, roer liggies en laat vir 10 minute staan
Kook water en botter. Meng vlapoeier met 'n bietjie water en voeg by kokende mengsel. Bly roer totdat dit reg is.
Gooi warm mengsel oor lemoene en roer effens.
Laat slaai bietjie afkoel voor bediening.
