Grilled Trout — Gebraaide forel

Catching your own trout in a cold mountain stream in the northern parts of the Great North is a story on its own. Grilling it is another, much easier one if you know how... Remember, trout is not only low in calories, it is also easier to cook than hamburgers!
Om jou eie forel in ’n koue bergstroom in die noordelike dele van die Noordelike Provinsie te vang, is ’n strorie op sigself. Om dit te braai, is ’n ander, makliker storie as jy weet hoe... Onthou, forel bevat nie net min kalorieë nie, dit is ook makliker om gaar te maak as hamburgers!

Ingredients:
4 trouts
200g butter
own choice of spices
lemon juice

Method:

  • Scratch trouts clean and remove intestines.
  • Baste trouts in the cavity and on the outside with butter flavoured with your favourite herbs and spices.
  • Make diagonal slits on outside of trouts. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
  • Put in a braai grill en grill slowly over charcoal that has turned white and burned down until ready.
  • Bestanddele:
    4 forelle
    200g botter
    speserye na smaak
    suurlemoensap

    Metode:

  • Krap forelle skoon en verwyder binnegoed.
  • Smeer forelle binne en buite met botter wat met jou gunsteling kruie en speserye gegeur is.
  • Sny dwarskepies oor forel aan die buitekant. Besprinkel met suurlemoensap.
  • Knyp toe in rooster en braai stadig oor kole tot gaar.
