Potato dumplings — Aartappelkluitjies

Tired of mashed potatoes, baked potatoes and fried chips? Try this potato dumplings. Potatoes are a rich source of vitamin C, potassium, phosphorus and cabohydrates.

Ingredients:
8 cups hot water or broth
2 cups hot mashed potatoes
½ cup corn flour
1 egg
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon parsley flakes
pepper to taste
dash nutmeg

Method:

  • Heat water or broth in large casserole, covered with glass lid, in microwave oven at HIGH for 7 to 8 minutes, or until water is boiling.
  • Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients. Drop heaping tablespoons into water.
  • Cook at HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes until dumplings float. Drain and serve.
  • 4 to 6 servings.

  • Bestanddele:
    8 koppies warm water of vleisekstrak
    2 koppies warm kapokaartappels
    ½ koppie meelblom
    1 eier
    ½ teelepel sout
    ¼ teelepel pietersielievlokkies
    peper na smaak
    knippie neutmuskaat

    Metode:

  • Verhit water of ekstrak in groot glasbak met deksel op in mikrogolfoond by HOOG vir 7 tot 8 minute, of totdat dit kook.
  • Meng intussen die ander bestanddele. Gooi opgehoopte eetlepels vol in die water.
  • Kook by HOOG vir 3 tot 4 minute totdat die kluitjies bo dryf. Dreineer en bedien.
  • 4 tot 6 porsies.
